Press Networks (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “Press Networks”) respects intellectual property rights and expects its users to do the same. This policy describes how we respond to claims of copyright infringement directed to content on pressnetworks.co.uk (the “Site”) or through our services (collectively, the “Service”).
1. Scope & Applicability
- This Policy applies to claims of copyright infringement under U.S. law (i.e., the DMCA) and to equivalent claims under UK or international copyright law.
- Even though the DMCA is a U.S. statute, many service providers globally follow the DMCA take-down / counter-notice procedure. We may act in accordance with DMCA principles when content is accessible in or from the U.S.
- For claims under UK or other applicable copyright law (e.g. under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 in the UK), this Policy shall be treated as our internal procedure for handling complaints.
2. Reporting Copyright Infringement
If you are a copyright owner (or authorized agent thereof) and believe that content on our Service infringes your copyright, you may submit a written notification (“Infringement Notice”) to our designated Copyright Agent containing the following information:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (or, if multiple works, a representative list).
- Identification of the infringing content (or activity) and its location (for example, the specific URL(s) on our Service).
- Your contact information, including your full name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature (for example, typing your name suffices).
Send your Infringement Notice to our Copyright Agent at the contact information below.
Note: Incomplete or deficient notices may not be actionable under this Policy.
3. Action Upon Receipt of Notice
Upon receipt of a valid Infringement Notice, we will take action as appropriate under the circumstances, which may include:
- Removing or disabling access to the allegedly infringing content.
- Notifying the user who posted the content about the removal or disabling action, and providing them a copy of your notice (or a summary thereof).
- Terminating or suspending accounts of repeat infringers, in appropriate cases.
We will exercise reasonable efforts to act expeditiously to remove or disable access to infringing content, consistent with relevant law.
4. Counter-Notification by Accused User
If you believe your content was removed in error, or you have authorization to use the content (e.g. valid license, fair dealing/fair use exemption, or ownership), you may submit a counter-notification (“Counter Notice”) containing:
- Identification of the content that was removed or disabled and its former location (e.g. the URL).
- A statement under good faith belief that the content was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your contact information info@pressnetworks.co.uk
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the relevant courts (for DMCA, typically a U.S. federal district court) or, if applicable, courts in your jurisdiction, and agreeing to accept service of process from the original claimant.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Upon receiving a valid Counter Notice, we may forward it to the original complainant. Unless the complainant files a legal action seeking a court order to restrain the user from infringing, we may restore access to the removed content within 10 to 14 business days, in our discretion.
5. Repeat Infringer Policy
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts or restrict access for users who are determined to be repeat infringers of copyright.
6. Disclosures & Forwarding
- We may forward your Infringement Notice or Counter Notice (or portions thereof) to the user who posted the content or to third parties, including hosting providers, as necessary to resolve the matter.
- We may also publicly disclose limited information regarding takedown activity (e.g. notices received, actions taken) to comply with transparency obligations or legal requirements.
7. Miscellaneous
- This Policy is part of our Terms & Conditions.
- We may revise or update this Policy at any time. Changes will take effect upon posting.
- We strongly encourage you to seek legal advice before submitting an Infringement Notice or Counter Notice. Improper, fraudulent, or bad-faith submissions (e.g. knowingly misrepresenting infringement) may give rise to liability under applicable laws (e.g. Section 512(f) of the U.S. DMCA).
- This Policy does not limit or waive any rights or remedies available to us or to you under copyright law or otherwise.
